Four-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Large Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "W. ROBERTS / BINGHAMTON NY," circa 1870, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a large slip-trailed design of a spotted bird perched on a branch. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Grease staining to surface. Otherwise excellent condition.
