One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "W. ROBERTS BINGHAMTON. N.Y.," circa 1870, cylindrical jug with semi-rounded spout, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested bird with fan-shaped tail, perched on a flowering vine. Spotted and striped details to bird's body. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark. Desirable size with large-sized decoration. Excellent condition with a tiny chip to exterior of spout and some minor staining.
