Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Canning Jar, Stamped "JOHN BELL / WAYNESBORO'," PA origin, circa 1850-1880, cylindrical jar with rounded shoulder and flared rim, the surface dipped in a whitish slip and decorated around the shoulder with sponged cobalt. Excellent condition with a few minor rim chips. H 8 5/8".
