George Ohr Pottery Bisque Vase with Ear-Form Handles, Signed "Geo. E. Ohr / Expo Clay / 04," George E. Ohr, St. Louis, MO, 1904, ovoid form with inwardly-rolled rim and applied handles shaped like human ears. Incised signature on underside. This vase was made in St. Louis after the Louisiana Purchase Exposition of 1904 (St. Louis World's Fair), where Ohr had displayed his work. He remained in the city for a period to make and sell pottery, some of which bears the inscription "Expo Clay / 04." Excellent, essentially as-made condition. H 3 1/4" ; W 6 3/4".
