Two Pieces of Norwich, CT Stoneware, second quarter 19th century, a one-gallon ovoid jug with cobalt floral decoration and wooden stopper, stamped "S. RISLEY / NORWICH," paired with a two-gallon ovoid jar with cobalt-highlighted maker's mark and handle terminals, stamped "ARMONSTRONG / & / WENTWORTH / NORWICH." Jug with a large in-the-firing chip to underside at edge, a partially-glazed-over base chip, and a small base chip. Jar in essentially as-made condition with a shallow in-the-firing chipping to bottom edge, wear to edge of one handle, and two in-the-firing contact marks to reverse.
