Rare Half-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar with Rivesville, WV Advertising, Western PA origin, circa 1880, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, featuring the stenciled cobalt advertising, "I. HESS. / MERCHANT / RIVESVILLE / W.VA." Some faintness to stenciling and light staining to reverse. Otherwise excellent condition. H 8 1/8".
