One-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Swag Decoration, Stamped "J.M. HICKERSON / STRASBURG VA.," circa 1880, ovoid pitcher with footed base and tooled collar, decorated around the upper body with a series of graduated swags and wavy stripes. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Impressed with J.M. Hickerson maker's mark on side of collar. A 1" rim chip on side of pitcher. Chipping to spout. A base chip and a few minor base nicks.
