Extremely Rare Three-Gallon Shenandoah Valley Multi-Glazed Redware Jar, attributed to J. Eberly & Co., Strasburg, VA, circa 1890, ovoid jar with tall, flaring collar and applied lug handles, the lead-glazed surface covered in streaky, cream-colored slip and decorated with splashes of copper and manganese. Exceptional form, modeled after a stoneware jar. Few Strasburg multi-glazed redware pieces of this size were produced. Areas of restoration throughout. Rim chips. H 13 1/2".
