One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "LYONS", Thompson Harrington, Lyons, NY, circa 1860, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, flared collar, and applied lug handles, decorated with a brushed design of a tulip plant bearing two blossoms. Brushed "1" to shoulder. Cobalt highlight to maker's mark and handle terminals. Very nice condition with two chips and minor wear to inner rim for lid, a very minor chip to interior of rim, two very minor in-the-firing base chips, and some relatively minor, in-the-making line-shaped indentations at base.
