Small-Sized Stoneware Toby Pitcher, Stamped "AMERICAN POTTERY Co. / JERSEY CITY, N.J.", circa 1845, molded pitcher with spout in the form of a man's face with tricorn hat, foliate decorated midsection, and ornamental spurred handle. Exterior surface covered in a dark-brown Albany slip glaze. Interior surface covered in a whitish Bristol slip glaze. Underside impressed with American Pottery Co. maker's mark. Excellent, essentially as-made condition. H 5 3/4".
