Stoneware Yale University Mug with Elaborate Incised Decoration, Inscribed "A.E. Skinner / 106 N.", Dated 1895, tapered form with tooled band around the shoulder, the surface covered in a chocolate-brown Albany slip glaze and incised, " 'Here's to good OLD YALE drink it down ' ". Front incised "YALE / 95" above a Yale University seal. An additional fraternal seal on the right side features a large incised dragon. Various students names are additionally incised on the mug, under the headings " '95, '96, '97, and P.G.'s. Underside incised "A.E. Skinner / 106 N.," for Alburn Edward Skinner, a member of the Yale Class of 1895. Excellent, essentially as-made condition. H 6 1/8".
