One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird Decoration, "J. NORTON & CO. / BENNINGTON VT.," circa 1860, cylindrical jug with squared spout, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested bird perched on a stylized branch. Two minuscule spout nicks. Two salt drips to underside. Some light staining to reverse. An in-the-firing dry area to front base. A minuscule surface nick to front.
