Two Pieces of Stoneware with Cobalt Floral Decorations, Stamped "A.E. SMITH & SONS, / MANUFACTURERS, / 38 Peck Slip, N.Y.", circa 1855, a three-gallon jar with large brushed floral motif, paired with a three-gallon churn with double-stemmed floral motif. Jar with some faint lines to surface, not visible on interior, a minor rim nick, and a minor handle nick. Churn with some fry to cobalt, some water glass staining, shallow chipping to inner rim for lid, two small in-the-firing iron pings, a faint 4 1/2" surface line to reverse (not visible on interior), and a 1 1/4" line on underside, continuing 4 1/2" up side of churn.
