Very Rare Two-Gallon Corning, NY Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Heart-and-Floral Decoration, attributed to S.T. Brewer, Havana, NY, circa 1855, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a brushed design of a heart with spotted flowers at base, surrounding the impressed and cobalt-highlighted advertising, "R.E. ROBINSON / REGULATOR STORE / CONCERT HALL BUILDINGS / CORNING N Y". A very large, tightly-reglued section extending from the right side of the jar's front onto the reverse. This reglued section including a small sliver missing from rim.
