Two-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "HAXSTUN & CO. / FORT EDWARD, N.Y.", circa 1875, cylindrical crock with semi-squared rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a large slip-trailed design of a crested bird perched on a stylized branch. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. A 1 3/8" in-the-firing base chip and a 3" in-the-firing flake to underside at edge.
