Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Large Cobalt Floral Decoration, Midwestern origin, circa 1845, ovoid jug with semi-rounded spout, decorated with a large brushed design of a flowering plant with heavily-petaled blossom and swag-decorated leaves. Brushed cobalt highlight to capacity mark and lower handle terminal. A 1 1/8" chip to side of spout. A shallow, glazed-over base chip. Some light surface wear.
