One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Foliate Decoration, attributed to John and James Miller, Strasburg, VA, circa 1835, ovoid jar with flared base, flattened rim, and arching tab handles, decorated on the front with a cross-shaped floral motif, including diagonal foliate devices emanating from it. Reverse with horizontal foliate motif with a small brushed flower blossom above and below. A 1 7/8" chip to rim above right handle. A minor rim chip above left handle. Base chips.
