One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "GEDDES. N.Y.", circa 1870, cylindrical jug with squared rim, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested bird perched on stylized branch with spotted leaves. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark. Essentially as-made condition with a short, in-the-firing line at base, a small piece of adhered clay on left side and an in-the-firing iron drip to reverse.
