Two-Gallon Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Jar, Stamped "JG", John Goodman, Lincoln County, NC, circa 1880, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, flared rim, and applied strap handles, the surface covered in a streaky olive-green alkaline glaze. Impressed at shoulder with the initials, "JG", above a two-gallon capacity mark. A 1 1/2" flake to side of rim. Otherwise excellent condition.
