Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar with Stenciled Bird Motif, Stenciled "T.F. REPPERT. / GREENSBORO. PA", circa 1880, semi-ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and flattened rim, featuring T.F. Reppert maker's stenciling surrounding a stenciled design of a bird perched on a branch, flanked by two small stenciled tulips. A slightly-recessed in-the-firing contact mark to front. A slightly-recessed spot on reverse. A tight 4" crack on underside. Minor nicks to shoulder molding.
