One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Coggled Decoration, Stamped "PAUL : CUSHMANs", Albany, NY origin, early 19th century, wide, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, applied lug handles, and coggled diamond-and-ellipse design around collar. Midsection with large coggled Paul Cushman signature. Surface dipped in Albany slip and covered in a salt glaze. Network of cracks, primarily on reverse and side of jar, continuing onto underside where it forms a Y. Base chips. A small rim chip.
