One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "I.M. MEAD", Mogadore, OH origin, circa 1840, ovoid jug with tooled spout, decorated with a large brushed tulip with splayed leaves. Brushed cobalt highlights to maker's mark and handle terminals. A 1/4"hole in side of jug. A small piece of in-the-firing clay adhered to handle. A small in-the-firing contact mark to base of decoration. Several minor base chips.
