One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to D.P. Shenfelder, Reading, PA, circa 1870, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, decorated with a brushed floral design featuring a wavy stem with graduated leaves. A 2 1/4" vertical surface line at base, continuing 3/4" onto underside, not visible on interior. Two other short vertical surface lines to base, not visible on interior. Two cracks from rim, measuring 3 1/2" and 2".
