One-and-a-Half-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Leaf Decoration, Stamped "E. & L.P. NORTON / BENNINGTON, VT", circa 1870, cylindrical jar with rounded shoulder, flared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a leaf surrounded by spots. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Excellent condition with a short line at base, a tiny crack along edge of handle, and a minor nick to top edge of rim.
