Scarce Two-Gallon Martinsburg, PA Stoneware Advertising Jug, Western PA origin, circa 1875, ovoid jug with tooled shoulder, featuring the stenciled cobalt advertising, "W.L. KNAGY(?) & CO / GENERAL / MERCHANTS. / DRAB COR. / MARTINSBURG. / PA.". Freehand cobalt stripe decoration to shoulder and base. Base with freehand "2". Difficult-to-find Western PA town name. A 1 1/4" x 1" chip to handle. A salt drip to shoulder on reverse. A chip to interior of spout. A small in-the-firing chip to shoulder.
