Four-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Floral Decoration, New York State origin, circa 1870, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, squared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a brushed design of a three tulips emanating from a central stem. Cobalt "4" with flourish at shoulder. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Provenance: Collection of Lorren Lambert, Staunton, VA. An 8" hairline extending from shoulder to base area on front. A small, glazed-over ping to left side of crock's front. A minor, glazed-over chip to interior of rim.
