Three Pieces of Western PA Stoneware, circa 1870-1880, a two-gallon stoneware jar with stenciled cobalt floral motif and freehand "2" flanked by dashes at base, stenciled "R.T. WILLIAMS / NEW GENEVA / PA"; a cobalt-stripe-decorated wax sealer; and a half-gallon jar with cobalt maker's stenciling, "From / James Hamilton & Co. / Greensboro, Pa." Williams jar is slightly out-of-round with firing residue at base on reverse and a 3 1/8" in-the-firing loss to base on side of jar. Stripe-decorated wax sealer with small rim chip. Hamilton jar with fry to cobalt, discoloration and greasy staining to surface, wear to rim, and a faint 1 3/4" Y-shaped line in underside.
