Scarce One-Gallon Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Jug, Stamped "CA" Charles Avera, Crawford County, GA, circa 1855, cylindrical jug with flared spout and applied, thin strap handle, the surface covered in a streaky olive-colored alkaline glaze. Handle impressed "CA". Provenance: Harmer Rooke Galleries, New York, NY. Spout chips. Otherwise excellent condition. H 12".
