Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "N. CLARK & Co / ROCHESTER. N.Y", circa 1845, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, applied lug handles, and stepped rim, decorated with a large slip-trailed design of a tulip. Slip-trailed "2" to shoulder. Tight spider cracks to front, extending onto left side of jar, one of which also extends onto underside. A shallow 1" chip to interior of rim. A 1 1/2" hairline from rim. A minor rim nick.
