One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Drape-and-Tassel Motif, NJ origin, possibly J. Eaton, South River, NJ, circa 1830, highly-ovoid jug with tooled spout, decorated with a brushed drape-and-tassel motif including spots on the interior. Brushed cobalt highlight to upper handle terminal. Provenance: A fresh-to-the-market example, from a fifty-year private collection. Excellent condition with a minor spout nick and a minor base nick.
