Scarce One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "HUMISTON & WARNER / SOUTH. AMBOY. N.J.", circa 1830, highly-ovoid jug with tooled spout and heavily-ribbed handle, decorated with a brushed tulip motif with curved stem and long stamen. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Excellent condition with a hairline on underside of handle, extending a short distance onto side and top of handle, as well as some staining to reverse.
