Two Rock Mills, Alabama Open-Handled Stoneware Jars, fourth quarter 19th century, an open-handled jar with incised "4" at shoulder, possibly W.D. Pound, ex-Harmer Rooke Galleries with auction sticker at shoulder, ex-Georgeanna Grier collection with painted code on underside; paired with a second open-handled jar with impressed "5" at shoulder, attributed to the Pittman Brothers. Ex-Greer jar with two hairlines at base, continuing a short distance onto underside and some wear around midsection. Unsigned Pittman jar in excellent, essentially as-made condition with an in-the-firing surface separation on underside, not visible on interior.
