One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Charter's Station, PA Advertising, Western PA origin, circa 1875, ovoid jar with flattened rim, featuring the elaborate stenciled cobalt inscription, "S.B. COPELAND & Co, / DRY / GOODS / GROCERIES / & C. / CHARTER'S STA. / WESTMORELAND Co / PA.". Grease residue to underside and base area on reverse. Some very minor crazing to base on reverse. Faintness to the abbreviation, "Pa.".
