One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stenciled "JAS. HAMILTON & CO / GREENSBORO, PA", circa 1875, semi-ovoid jar with semi-squared rim, featuring James Hamilton maker's stenciling within a banner-shaped flourish with leaf at the center. Stenciled "1 1/2" with flourishes at base. Freehand stripe below rim and at base. Excellent condition with an in-the-firing chip to base.
