Two Alkaline-Glazed Wide-Mouthed Stoneware Jugs, North Carolina origin, late 19th century, a five-gallon jug of double-handled form, incised "5", paired with a three-gallon jug, incised "3", both with olive-green alkaline glaze. Five-gallon jug missing one handle, with one spout chip. Three-gallon jug with wedge-shaped loss to spout. H (of five-gallon jug) 18 1/2".
