Scarce Shenandoah Valley Glazed Redware Jug, attributed to J. Eberly & Co. or S. Bell & Son, Strasburg, VA, circa 1890, ovoid jug with tooled spout, the surface decorated with streaks of manganese applied over cream-colored slip and covered in a clear lead glaze. An unusual Strasburg, VA redware form. Provenance: Recently discovered in Maryland. Very nice condition with a nick to spout, other minor spout wear, a minor chip to edge of handle, and a few very minor nicks to bottom edge. H 6".
