Two Half-Gallon Wheeling, WV Stoneware Advertising Jugs, Western PA origin, circa 1875, one featuring the cobalt stenciling, "M. REILLY. / 1309 & 1311. / MAIN STREET / WHEELING W. VA"; the other featuring the cobalt stenciling, "PETER WELTY & Co. / WHOLESALE / LIQUORS / 1115 & 1121. MARKET ST. / WHEELING. W. VA.". Reilly jug with two in-the-firing contact marks, one of which is recessed, and a small chip to handle. Welty jug with a few shallow base chips, two shallow blobs of raised clay to front, and light wear to surface.
