Four-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Chicken Pecking Corn Decoration, New York State origin, circa 1875, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a chicken pecking kernels of corn from a stylized ground. Provenance: David Musser Collection. Very nice overall condition with an in-the-firing separation on interior of rim (not visible on interior), two small chips on interior of rim, and a small X-shaped line in underside.
