Five-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "BROWN BROTHER , / HUNTINGTON, / L.I.", circa 1870-1885, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed tulip design extending up the front. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Provenance: Donald Matties Collection. A star-shaped spider line on underside. Two hairlines at base on left side of pitcher. A small in-the-firing handle chip.
