Two New York City Stoneware Advertising Jars, New York City or New York State origin, circa 1875, a two-gallon jar with cobalt leaf design, stamped "J.F. GOEPFERT / 525 2ND AVE / NEW YORK"; paired with a six-gallon jar stamped "M.A. POCKRIDGE / 856 6th AVE / NEW YORK" with stylized foliate motif, additionally stamped by the maker on reverse "ADAM CAIRE / PO'KEEPSIE N Y". Goepfert jar with heavy chipping to inner rim for lid, chips to interior of rim, and fry to cobalt. Pockridge jar with staining throughout, fry to cobalt, a small iron ping under one handle, a small chip to interior of rim, and small chips to inner rim for lid.
