Three-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to Henry H. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1840, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, flared collar, and applied lug handles, decorated with a horizontal tulip motif on the front and reverse. Wavy cobalt stripe decoration under each handle and cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Provenance: David Musser Collection. Excellent overall condition with a small rim chip, a glazed-over iron ping to shoulder, and minor base wear.
