Six-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Churn, Stenciled "EXCELSIOR POTTERY / PARKERSBURG, W. VA.", A.P. Donaghho, Parkersburg, WV, circa 1880, semi-ovoid churn with tooled shoulder, flared collar, and applied lug handles, decorated with "EXCELSIOR POTTERY" maker's stenciling within a rectangular border. Stenciled "6" below within a geometric border. A 6" X-shaped hairline to left side of churn. A vertical 11" line on front. Some reddish-brown in-the-firing contact marks to body. Spattered Albany slip to reverse. H 18 1/2".
