Exceptional Tanware Pitcher, New Geneva or Greensboro, PA origin, circa 1885, cylindrical-bodied pitcher with ornately-turned collar culminating in a narrow opening with flared rim. Body decorated around its circumference with a brushed fuchsia vine design between two freehand stripes. Collar decorated with an inverted drape motif, interspersed with spots, along with graduated sets of dashes between freehand stripes. Handle additionally decorated with freehand striping. Wonderful form and striking decoration. An area of wear to right of spout, which appears to be in-the-firing, and a tiny stone ping to spout. No other flaws. H 8".
