Graduated Group of Three Slip-Decorated Redware Plates, Norwalk, CT origin, circa 1840, all with coggled edges and similar wavy banding in yellow slip. Provenance: Collected in the Long Island, NY area. Smallest with rim chips and wear to interior. Middle-sized plate with rim chips, wear / haziness to lead glaze on interior, and heavy blackening to reverse. Largest plate with large flakes to interior and small rim chips. Diameter (of largest) 11 1/4".
