Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Incised Bird Decoration, Stamped "I. SEYMOUR / TROY", New York State origin, circa 1830, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and applied lug handles, decorated with an incised and cobalt-highlighted design of a bird with impressed eye, perched on a stylized leaf. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and handle terminals. A 5" crack from rim on reverse. A few small rim chips. Salt drips to lower left side of front. A faint X-shaped line at base on right side of jar.
