Half-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Drape Decoration, New Jersey or Connecticut origin, late 18th or early 19th century, ovoid jar with heavily-tooled shoulder and the flared rim, decorated on the front and reverse with a brushed cobalt drape design. Reddish-brown iron slip on interior. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with some typical firing flaws, including a small glazed-over chip to interior of rim, an iron ping to body, and in-the-firing contact marks to body. H 9".
