Four-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "EVAN R JONES / PITTSTON, PA", circa 1875, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a leafy branch with graduated blossom. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark, capacity mark, and handle terminals. Spider lines to front. A vertical 5 1/2" hairline under left handle. A chip to left handle. Patched area of exfoliation (?) on interior only.
