Two-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Stenciled Cobalt Rose Decoration, Stamped "BROWN BROTHER , / HUNTINGTON, / L.I.", New York State origin, circa 1870-1885, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a stenciled design of a rose blossoming from a curved, leafy stem. Light cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Provenance: Donald Matties Collection. Excellent, essentially as-made condition.
