Rare Two-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Floral Decoration and Initials "SS", Stamped "BROWN BROTHERS, / HUNTINGTON, / L.I.", New York State origin, circa 1880-1895, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a two-stemmed floral design flanked by the letters "SS". Provenance: Donald Matties Collection. A 3" crack at base on reverse, continuing 2" onto underside. A base chip to front and other minor base nicks. A minor chip to interior of rim.
