Small-Sized Glazed Redware Jug, New England origin, circa 1820, ovoid jug with footed base, ribbed strap handle, and unusual tooled midsection, the shoulder decorated with a series of vertical manganese slashes over a mottled orange and reddish ground, the surface covered in a clear lead glaze. Excellent size. Numerous small flakes to surface. Shallow chips and wear to spout and handle. A few minor, shallow base chips. H 5 3/4".
